That is indeed one big boat although the hull doesn't look like the real curves of a merchant ship. Any idea how they built it and if they have followed the plans? Or did they make it "the fast way" to get a subject for the towing, not caring too much for the curves of a real hull? It is pretty large though, good to put in the garage if you don't have a car In our school we also had a model of 12m long, a bulk carrier, normally a manned model, it was part of somebody's graduation essay. I don't really know what happened to the thing though, it looked pretty amateuristic from what I saw and I don't think they are actually using it.

Bit late to jump in, but anyway I'm happy I saw this!!! Great stuff. Love that big Broadsword frigate! And of course the Fearless. I saw her in the scrapyard. I went back there a few days ago, no sign of Fearless anymore... But now HMS Brambleleaf was there still fully intact though, with lifebuoys, spare prop blades etc. Wonder when they'll start scrapping her too. She actually looks in a very good condition, a real shame to scrap that ship.
Logical question from me now, who built that huge merchant ship with the derricks? And was a sailing model or only on display? Looks a bit crude, but nice for such a size! Got any more pictures of that one?
Thanks for posting, Roel

You wouldn't happen to have any more photos of that build? Hi Avery Thanks for asking about the HMS Amazon model . It is in fact a Deans Marine Kit , it was first shown on the site about 4 years back. Nice model to build and sail, even surviving quite rough water conditions. There was a picture taken when ARH completed his Iron Duke with both vessels cruising together. Dave Wooley

I'd be very interested in seeing some more pics Admiral, I'm always checking in on the scratch forum, just don't say a whole lot. It seems to be more and more active these days, so perhaps the time is right to start posting again.

Hi Ron,
Maybe the site people could get all of these posted in the gallery like Jim Baumann does. It has to be easier than posting them one by one. I get fed up posting just two, or three.
In any event thanks for sharing those interesting and excellent photographs.
Best regards,
Jack Ray
