Now that sounds way better than your posts before, I`m glad to read this!
I`ve re-drawn the wheelhouse roof now by myself, based on your picture. Came out pretty nice and fits into the rest of my plans perfectly. Tonight I`ll work on the roof of the after cabin and after that I`ll have to start drawing a good bow and stern view. As soon as I`ve finished that, I`ll possibly start building my model....
So I`ll stay tuned, you bet!
Wolfgang

Hello! Just found this thread while searching for more information about this impressive boat. I`ve read through it from start and I`m very, very sorry to read the last few posts because it looks like this one has a sad ending? I hope that I`m wrong in this and also want to give my best wishes to the starter of this thread! I`m from Germany and since I`ve learned my english mainly when I was at some training facilities of the US Navy it isn`t very good when it comes down to expressing formal things....
Ok, right now I`m working on some plans to build a model of "Chinook" too but all I have so far is the flyer which one can download at Camarc`s site... It looks like my frames and hull lines come out just fine but unfortunatly there`s no real drawing of the boat from above, just a view of the main deck with all the interior of the wheelhouse- but this is not what I`m really after right now. I`ve seen the picture of the wheelhouse roof right at the start of this thread and wonder if anybody in here has it in higher resolution so that I can insert it in my plans?
Any help or high resolution pictures would be very welcome because apart from the ones I`ve found in here there isn`t much to find on the internet! BTW: If somebody should need things or informations from over here (Germany, Europe)- just send me a message, I`ll be glad to help out when- and whereever I can!
I would have preferred to not prolongue this thread openly because it might bring up sad memories to it`s starter but I don`t know how to help myself otherwise or how to get in touch with some people who might be able to help me.
Thanx for reading through this, regards,
Wolfgang

I avidly followed your incredibly sharp build--along with the hi-tech aspects of mastering - you also learnt to silversolder etc etc
I hope you can get your life to conform to your way again-and look forward to seeing progress on your mdeol when you can grab a moment.
Cheers

Hi All-
Life doesn't seem to be getting better but at least I am still alive!
No real time to build - in April it will be a year since I have worked on the boat - I feel pretty bad about that. Pretty hard to get back into the swing of things. work is a disaster and home isn't much better.
I am taking the attitude that I will have to put my hobby aside for a few years until I have some quiet time to pick it up again.
I still read the board but more with envy than anything else

Tarsis, hope your spouse feels better MS is a real bear to deal with (my wife is a CNA and had a client for years with MS). If you ever get back to your build here are a couple of ideas (and a bump for a four year thread) 1) maybe take your cooling water from an inlet on/in the jet tubes? That way you only get water when the pumps (motors) are running. that way you get the cooling and overboard water exit (which looks fantastic). 2) oldy scale armor trick; take a toothpick and some liquid cement (Airfix plastic weld?) and use the toothpick to apply the glue, swirling it ever so slightly. Gives a decent simulation of a weld bead on the plastic and simulates arc welding at the same time. The bead will also fill small imperfections in seams and panel cutting.
The model looks great (museum quality) and the quality you have put into it definitely will make it worth it in the end.
Again, best of luck to you and yours, Foo

Hi all -
Life seems to have gotten completely in the way. Stock market crash on Wall Street and a very sick wife (multiple sclerosis) at home. I am a mess but holding together. Would love to have time to work on my boat but I havent' been able to find time.
Tarsier.

Hi David- Thanks for posting the pictures. The pilot boat Humber Callisto was designed as the same firm as the one I am building Camarc Ltd http://www.camarc.com The link is here http://www.camarc.com/Data-sheets/Pilot/17m%20humber%20pilot%20boat.pdfA real striking boat. Thanks, Paul.

Hi All-
Still on my long hiatus. Summer is going well but I have been running around so much there is no time to build the boat. I am hoping things calm down in the fall and I can start working again.
Hope you are all having a great summer.

Best,
Tarsier. Your absence will be noticed Tarsier. Even though I don't post much anymore I still look in to see whats new. Have you had any luck finding a router to make parts with? I think Sears might have something that you would be interested in. I saw an add for it a while ago so I'll see if I cant find it again. TommyL.
