i was keeping track of costs at one time but it got forgotten about,i will try to keep a log on my next build, the case $130 ,barrels, and small amount of photo etch $75,books and plans$200.supplies$ 500.plus time.i realy do not know the correct amount. if you add hours even at $5 an hour it comes out to alot.

Have you calculated the cost of your whole build? (materials, paints, glues, refferences etc) Awesome build...

Hi Russ Superb Job Your forcastle paint work is excellent , what type of paint did you use. How many more ships boats do you have to make? What method did you make use of to camouflage the superstructure . Having never done this it seems an almost impossible task? Great project . Dave Wooley

heres a progress report on "roma" the fore tower is not finished ,it is held on by a rod with a nut on top,a tip from dave wooley.there is still quite a few details to go on the whole assembly.i found i do not like rigging, about the same amount as camo paint jobs to easy to scew up,hard to fix when i do.the boat handling derricks and pulleys are made from brass ,as are the masts and search lites.there are more pics at work on progress.

well i thought i would be smart and assemble the front bridge, director tower in sub. assemblys, this was a good plan until i tried to put on the ladders, there are lots of them, all at differant spots and angles. the ladders have to be put on as the tower goes up.so i have to make dam sure every thing is painted and finished , it makes putting on the ladders very tricky.(dam)

you are right dave the white and red ,and light gray are glossy, i plan to blast the whole ship with dull coat.that should tone it down a bit.the camo paint scheme has been a challange, very nerve racking, peeling off the tap and wondering if there is bleeding or peeling paint off.

Hi Russ superb job . I do like your camouflage and forecastle paint job. If I may ponder a Question .The red stripes they appear in the photo to have a gloss surface.? I 'm not being critical , far from it as I really do not know the vessel that well. This is just an observation as I tend to view most warships as being finished in a colour scheme that is basically matt . Dave Wooley
