Ludwig,

You must hire a professional cleaning crew to clean up before you take photos.

Hello all,

Have been doing some more work on my diorama.

started to place some polystyrenefoam , to give some level in the diorama.

At the moment I am very busy making some new moulds , of which I show some photo's. When I start building this boat I will start a new topic

I am still picking my jaw up off the floor. That is going to be huge! The level of detail you have been putting into it so far, I hope there will be enough time in the universe to finish it.

hello Bigtodd,

the oly up-date I can give are some photo's off my harbour diorama which is in progress now.

Image

overall view off the diorama , in foreground is a drawing off my FTB , large buildings in center , also note the figure in the center , this will give you an idea how large the diorama is.

Image

close-up off the diorama , buildings , watertower , short pieces of railway track.

Image

from another angle. On your right is another boat , this time a Vorpostenboot.

Image

close-up off the Vorpostenboot (drawing)

Image

on the oposite side of my Flottentorpedoboot is a Minesweeper , Type 35 , which will be in a drydock.

Image

close-up of the minesweeper , buildings , railway track , crate.

Image

overall view. Right FTB , left Minesweeper , in the back Vorpostenboot. A lot off items have to be build , I also have to make a new harbourcrane. The intension is , Flottentorpedoboat is docked and in the progress off receiving mines , ammo and fuel (?) , the minesweeper is drydocked and receiving a new coat of paint (camouflage) , the Vorpostenboat is sailing by , the figures on this boat will be some off the Italeri E-boat crew.

enjoy

regards,

Ludwig

hello all,

I finally figured it out how to build the diorama , :woo_hoo: it has plenty of buildings , cranes , boats , a complete harbour will it be. I do not know if all this may be shown here , I hope I can start in the near future .

Ludwig,

I am glad to hear that you are doing alright, after checking in once a week with eager anticipation to see what fascinating advancements have been made on your masterpiece (as seen through my eyes), and knowing how life can turn upside down in what seems to be just a blink of an eye, I just wanted to ask because although we love the work your doing (and I'm sure I'm not just speaking for myself), it's the person behind the work that makes the difference.
I know what it's like to have more than a few projects on the burners and twice as many on the back burner, so I'll keep checking back, and when you post again you'll know that you have at least one person eager to see the Flottentorpedoboot Typ 39 just a little bit closer to being fought over by museums everywhere.

A "Hole Punch" or "hollow Hole punch" is a suitable name, can also be called a "wad cutter" for some reason. Looks a nice set as well.

Ludwig,

Thank you very much for the reply. I am glad I can manage that without the lathe :thumbs_up_1: I also have a similar set of 'hand punches' however of limited number of diameters.

Again, thank you for the technology. I am thinking of scratchbuilding out of sheet metal and soldering and will need wood templates for such things as turrets, etc to give necessary shape to metal plates before soldering. Applying your method will allow me making those templates for round items likes turrets without lathe for wood (I will use thick plywood or boards the same way you use plastic.). However punches will not go for plywood/boards - I will need some stationary fretsaw I plan to buy anyway.

Will look forward to your progress wiht torpedoboot - you build is very educational.
