neptune

Thanks for clarifying this. I kind of thought what you said was the case. I will post the build here slowly as I sort out the pictures and build notes, and trust the people in charge to tell me when they think transferring it would be a good idea.

Thanks again.

I'm not a moderator, but you could actually post it in the other section here named Completed, fully documented scratch builds.

In the end the building topics that are posted here and that are completed are transferred over there as well. People can still ask questions and comment over there.
However, to have more response I guess you might post it here (more viewers) gradually and after 1 month or so ask a moderator to transfer it?

I have photographed and recorded the scratch build of my model, but it's not a current build (I finished it about 18 months ago). It will still take me a while to re size and organise the pictures and notes of the build. I thought I could feed it in in single short posts so that questions could be asked and answered. Can I still post in on this section of the forum or is it strictly for models currently under construction?

A new section has been created for the completed builds. When you finish a project in this forum. Please mark it completed so that it can be moved to that section. This will allow for more room in this section for all the in-process builds and still give the finished builds their own section so they can be easily accessed and enjoyed.

This is a logical step forward and a good one :thumbs_up_1: :wave_1:

You can open the picture in Paint, go to Image -> Resize/Skew, and then change the horizontal and vertical percentage to something less until the picture's dimension reach 800 or smaller.

Alternatively, you can just put the picture onto a photo-hosting website such as www.tinypic.com and post the Direct Link to the picture in your post. We can then just click on your link to see your picture at full size.

Hi,

So if the files are much larger, is there n easy way to downsize them so they will be acceptable?

Thanks

The 800x600 limit only applies to pictures you are posting using the [img]and[/img] tags. If your pics are more than 800 wide, the forum will inform you when you try to post.
You can also check the size of any picture on your computer by right-clicking it and going to Properties -> Details.

How do I make sure that the pictures will not be larger than the specified 800 x 600 pixels? Also, can they be jpg, gif or tif files?

You have to be a registered member and be logged on to begin a new post. However you may reply to existing posts as a guest. This is being done to combat the SPAM.

Please title your thread using the following format:
scale, ship name and/or type, (date represented), special comments

Examples:
1/350 HMS Barham (1941)
1/200 Zerstörer SMS VELEBIT (1909)
1/350 French battleship Masséna (1891)
1/600 liner SS Independence (late 1960s)
1/25 Russian armored patrol boat Bronekater BK 1125 (WWII)
1/96 HMTBD Velox (1904) - Completed photos added
1/96 IJN Yamato (1945) for R/C

If posting for another modeler, please include the modeler's name, for example:
1/96 USS Missouri BB-63 (1945) by Brad Newland

Moderators will change thread titles to the preferred format.

Tim and Sean have emplaced significant anti-hacker features on this site. In the unlikely event that the site is hacked or threads otherwise lost, modelers are strongly advised to save their important posts as text files on their own computers at home so that the thread can be restored.

To all who are posting pictures, could you please post pictures no larger than 800 x 600 pixels size, we are finding that the written text is going way off the screen, making it very awkward and irratating to have to scroll across the screen, thank you,
