I obtained, from two contacts, different drawings at 1/48th. One is not so detailed but does give hull profiles and simple outlines for the superstructure. The other is an "altered" copy of shipyard drawings for P28, a Sunderland built vessel. It has no profiles. I understand these modified shipyard drawings also originally included the "internals" but these have been removed . It's still a detailed but very cluttered drawing and not easy to interpret. I am also unsure if there is copyright on these latter drawings so I am unfortunately unable to supply copies . May I suggest you go to this link. http://www.twmuseums.org.uk/engage/blog ... m-and-p23/ The museum has has an excellent model and might also hold the plans.
I plan to redraw the two sets of plans as a more easily interpreted model builders drawing (still at 1/48) some time in the future.
These are fascinating vessels.

I have seen some pictures of "P" boats but where did you get your plans?

Many thanks for flagging this up. John Lambert's plans are excellent. I may go down this road at a later date.

Thanks for your help.

.

Have you looked at JOHN LAMBERT PLANS ?

http://www.feralchicken.co.uk/lambert-plans/

This MIGHT be what you want ( you have to be very specific in terms of what you look for ) ;

THE 4-in. MARK IV GUN on MARK P. IX MOUNTING.

L/O/07

Four GAs and two external views. The main armament of Fleet Destroyers of WWI.
Later re-issued to some minesweepers and minor war vessels during WWII.
One medium sheet. Six drawings. See also L/O/39 on 'J' mounting. Drawn December 1976.

Thanks seasick

These links were very helpful. By a matter of elimination I have established it was MKV1 weapon on the Navy P Boats so that is the one I will model. The spec listed on the links will help greatly in scaling the drawings.
Thanks again for all your help.

The Royal Navy has almost 20 4" guns. This is the one that comes closest to your request: http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNBR_4-45_mk5.htm, or is it this one: http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNBR_4-40_mk3.htm, or is it this one: http://www.navweaps.com/Weapons/WNBR_4-40_mk4.htm. Each information page has footnotes.

Yes send a PM, I no longer need them so I thought I would just post them to you. Youre most welcome to them. Its actually one sheet but there are numerous drawings at all different angles and drawn at 1/2 inch to the foot.

Fantastic. The P boats were fitted with MK1V guns apparently on a CP111 mounting so the drawings you have will certainly help fit together the pieces of the jig saw. Would it be OK if I send you a PM to make some arrangement?

Hello PICKETBOAT

I have a copy of the David MacGregor drawings for a 4" MkIV gun as used on V&W class destroyers 1918-1945. Would these be of any use?

Hi all

I'm currently building up a file of info/plans/photos etc for a proposed future scratch build. I would love to build one of the WW1 British P boats.
I have some pictures and sketchy plans of the 4inch guns these vessels were armed with, but modelling these weapons would be much easier if I had clearer drawings. Does anyone have plans which I could re scale to 1/48th?
These vessels were built under an emergency program around 1915 so any 4inch guns fitted to British Navy vessels of around the same time would probably fit the bill.
As these guns were mounted in a splinter shield on the P boats its difficult to make out detail on the pictures and plans I have.
Any help would be appreciated.
