Features I like on Pontos are resin helos and PE helo decks.
In the other hand, Opened PE tomahawk in Infini set are nice too...
Thanks again
Romain I think there was a way to make an open tomahawk launcher with the Pontos. It came with Veteran's resin launchers, but there were parts on the PE sheet I believe to modify the Tamiya launchers. Don't hold it to me, but that is what I remember. Honestly there was ALOT of undocumented PE here that either I didn't use or figured out its use late in the game. Fully recommend going on Amazon and buying a few coffee table books on the subject matter.

Romain Romain I used the Pontos 35011F1 on the Tamiya 78029 with no problems. I didn't even realize the pontos kit was designed for the New Jersey mold until after I finished. In hindsight there might have been a couple of fit issues with the wood overlay but I just made a little trim and carried on and chalked it up to my own inexperience. (was my first pontos) Just beware the instructions can be cryptic at times and need photographs to sometimes figure out. Have fun

Thank you Keumho Kim Great news! It appears that I am not alone in being in some strange way drawn to that particular ship. I don't know what it is about her, but whatever it is, she definitely has it! I've been debating making her my winter project, but if you are bringing out one of your sets for her I will definitely put her off until your offering hits the market. It might cost me a few body parts and my immortal soul (well, I'm not using it right now anyway - Oh Brother, Where Art Though?), but a small price to pay to truly dress up what will probably become a multi year project. Thank you Mr. Kim for that great bit of news. Made my day! Bob

Any thought by Pontos to do a detail up set for the '44-45 fit of the U.S.S. Missouri. I know this has been covered by other manufacturers, but not to the Pontos level of detail.

Reply from Mr.Kim to similar question on 31st March 2013.
l am very sorry that our current Iowa sets(35007-35011F1) can't applied on the Tamiya new Missouri 1991 kit completely because these sets are fitted for Tamiya New jesrsey (old or new) kit. Especially stern deck parts may be hard.
Hope this helps.

Front door might be 339 and both side of doors are from 324-326... We added doors, windows, some ladders and etc. on this set left to modelers for being researched and applied on.
Thank you Keumho Kim

Re: Pontosmodel 1/350 USS Iowa Class Detail Up Sets |

Just an update on the 1967-69 USS NEW JERSEY Decking for my 1:200 MO kit:
Received the decking just before Xmas - Pontos did a great job on the decks. Removed everything I asked them to remove. The color is rather yellow, but I'm testing stains and comparing them to pix and a small plug from the actual deck that I have to come up with a suitable color. I will then stain and finish (Wipe On Poly) prior to removing any of the decking from the sheet.
I've posted a couple photos on my build in the Picture Post/Works in Progress Forum under my NEW JERSEY log.
Kudos to Kim @ Pontos for his assistance and technical support!
Hank

"Sailor Bill, where did you order your USS Wisconsin 1991 add-on set from that you were able to get it way back in October? I still can't find it or the Missouri add-on set available anywhere? I've been wanting this set for the domes and other missing parts from the main set ever since I bought it over a year ago. Supposedly it's been released, but yet not available from anybody?"
I had asked Kim at Pontos Models about this item way back when I heard they were making the add-on set. He sent me one gratis. It is very nice and is worth waiting for. I do see that Hobby Link Japan is advertising this item on their website. Search "USS Wisconsin 1991 Add-On Set by Hobbydecal". You will find it listed as a January 2015 release with a price of about $12.14 (today's yen conversion). You can also find the USS Missouri Add-On Set listed, with a price of around $15.17. Hope this information is helpful to you and others. Happy Holidays! Bill
