Hello,

Bruno asked me to give some information about the forthcoming 1/700 Royal Navy cruisers. We are very close now to see the end of the project. I am casting now the first pre-production parts, some are so delicate that I had to make several trials, so the delay.
You will be amazed by the anchors for example...
Announcement of the availability of the kits will be made by Bruno on the message board.
Best regards from Normandie,
Jacques Druel

Merci beaucoup!!

Take your time, do it right....

Hi John,
Release date will slip by one week or two to early January, due to unexpected delay with the 3D prototyping phase.
I got a message from l'Arsenal two days ago: the prototyped parts finally arrived on 12/11 and mold making is now being done. Casting should follow by next week.

Sorry to press, but I've just discovered this thread (and am trying to maintain composure) and it's now late January....any more news??? : Woo Hoo :

One ship has only 4 life rafts on the starboard side and
the other ship has 9 life rafts on the starboard side.

Tells you something doesn't it.

We're waiting for the last small parts from the prototyper, due next week.
Both kits should be ready and sent to those who kindly pre-ordered them at Telford by Xmas.

We'll make an announcement when they are ready for sale from l'Arsenal website.
_Bruno

Dear Bruno:

Do you have any news for the release date of both ships?

Regards,

John

the Jamaica,is it good for Korean war era as well, without major modifications??
or will the arsenal do a later version ,for Korean war??? :wave_1:

If sales are encouraging, earlier and later versions should be made available as conversion sets, AFAIK.
This will be possible as the original kit has been designed with that aim.
A Korean War Jamaica will lost her X turret, one crane, aircraft and catapult, have hangars converted to living spaces and ship extended and different aft superstructure, AA fit, masting and radars, plus many smaller details.

Very cool! :woo_hoo: These two cruisers I had wanted to built since I had read the instructions of my first ship model, a Scharnhorst by Airfix!

You're right Sir! :thumbs_up_1:
... and by the end of that heroic defence of the convoy by an handful of Royal Navy destroyers against such large ships as Hipper and Lutzow, two British light cruisers of the distant covering force finally made at speed in the scene, damaging Hipper and sinking German destroyer Eckholdt who had mistakenly identified one of them for Hipper in the dark.
So these two cruisers were...

Battle of Barents Sea would indicate Sheffield and Jamaica - which would be very cool.
