hey 1944

I have used PVA mixed with acrylic paints to use as gap filler on bad seems, shrinkage is sometimes a problem but it can be built up. Now, what your wanting to do I have done in the past with mixed results, I have tried using black India ink mixes with PVA and it seems to work very well. Like others have said run some test and see what results you like and works best for what you want to accomplish.

Good luck and let us know what the results where.

I just did some experimenting with carpenters glue. It's similar to white glue, but is yellowish (but dries clear) and much stronger. It is also water soluble and mixes well with acrylic paint. It's best characteristic is that it doesn't shrink as much as white glue, and holds it's shape better. Makes good blocks, insulators, etc. :wave_1:

Since both white glue and acrylic paint are water soluble they will easily mix. But from past experience, white glue shrinks so much on drying that it almost disappears. Several coats have to be added to build it up to the desired size/shape. :wave_1:

Hi, I haven't done this myself, but I do use PVA/paint mix to replicate rigging blocks and this works very well.

Whenever I try something new, I always carry out a test on scrap material, give it a try, won't cost much!

Drill a hole in some sprue and fill with your mixture.

Cheers, Jabb

Folks cam anyone help please - is it possible to mix PVA White Glue with Acrylic paint to use as a port hole filler to give it a bit more filling ability over the stock undiluted acrylic paint I was going to use, my mind set was to mix a certain amount of PVA in a Jar with my black Acrylic paint and then dab it in the port hole to create a natural port hole appearance.

Any ideas please fellow builders :thumbs_up_1:
