It doesn't have any.

The Idaho had 21-inch twin bollards along with 18 open and 2 (maybe 40 closed chocks. Were the chocks 21-inch as well? I am leaning yes. That would put each chock at 3mm (length) x 2mm (height) x 1mm (width) in 1/350 scale. I had to use metric instead of inches because of how small the dimensions are. My search continues for chocks to put on my Idaho kit. I haven't found the size I need as of yet.

I downloaded it direct from facebook, so that's all I've got. Maybe the Virginia Beach Public Library has a better copy?

I was able to find another photo from Dec. 30, 1941. This one was taken moments before the shot above. Most of USS Idaho is covered by smoke but you can still see the MS-12 camo on her hull and a little detail on the main deck. The tug facing the camera is YT-213. Behind her is YT-17. The tug on the right is the same tug from Wood Towing Corp as seen in the other photo.

Ok. Thanks. I couldn't seeing any difference between the two aftermarket setups. So it doesn't really matter which one I get.

Anyone know which version of the quad 40mm mk2 the Idaho had? Mod 1 or 2?
Some aftermarket parts have a mod 1 or 2. Both unshielded.

Good news, the models have been modified to remove the barrel and include the gun captain's blast hood. I'll post photos of the actual models after the updated design has been printed; all of our printers are presently fully engaged printing customer orders so the new models will get their turn in one of the printers later today or tonight.

In the mean time, below are some renderings of the updated models. The set includes:
- 6 double-knuckle mounts
- 2 double-knuckle mounts with rear facet
- 2 single-knuckle mounts with rear facet

Do the 5"/38's that you make have the blast hoods? And is there an option for those who might wish to use metal barrels like you do for the twin 5"/38's.

The rectangular extension you see on the tops of the 5" mounts is the gun captain's blast hood. Below is a photo of a blast hood on a museum ship.

The back of the gunhouse roof has been beveled off to provide clearance for some obstruction. The upper mount was probably for clearing the back of the bridge, and the lower mount was beveled to clear the adjacent quad 40MM tub. On the DE's, the forward mount was beveled to allow the hedgehog to have sufficient clearance to fire directly forward over the mount, and the after one was beveled for standardization to speed construction. On the Idaho, as on the DD's, the "double knuckle" on the lower mounts was to provide extra strength to withstand the blast effect from the higher, superfiring mount.
