Only the Pit Road photoetch set has what you need. But there is another option. The mast comes as four parts. You can carefully sand down the insides of each piece leaving only the latticework. You will need to supply the pillars at the corners. Then add the kit parts or thinner scratchbuilt details on it as appropriate. I did this and it looks pretty in-scale.

Forgive the half-paint - I had painted the lattice parts black to make it easier to see and all the gluing made it partially come off.

Excellent work there. I won't be trying that, it would go very badly!

thanks
Mike

I've just got myself the Skywave/Pit Road 1/700 Asakaze (Tachikaze class) JMSDF destroyer. This is my first JMSDF kit and I've struggling to find an available (in the UK or EU) etch set for it. I know Pit Road did one but it's oop and I know GMM did a set that included parts for JMSDF ships, but I can't make out if it's suitable or not. I'm mainly looking to replace things like the solid masts - any help from anyone?

thanks
Mike
