Because these ships grew into coastal convoy escorts vessels as the war progressed, I have been looking for evidence of added armor to bridges and around gun mounts. So far I have found only this one where armor plate is riveted around the bridge where crew can duck behind in need.

While the board has a Minesweeper category, I would like to expand on this particular class of German Minesweeper. They were built in large numbers, and had careers of extraordinary activity.
Built to sweep mines in the Baltic and shallow North Seas, they went on to be the Kriegsmarine's premier coastal convoy escorts during the long campaign in Europe's coastal waters.
These ships were built to several different distinct designs giving scope for modelers. What provides even more scope for the modeler and ship enthusiast were the many armament modifications to meet the rising tide of Coastal Command Air Attacks.
I'de like here to collect as many unique photos of this class of ship, to allow modelers and ship lovers to put together a reference to the M Class and it's many wartime modifications.
Light Anti Aircraft upgrades, many done in the field are a hallmark of the M Class.
If you have a photo, or a link of good quality or unique nature, please post. Or if you have a model built we would be interested to see what modifications to the basic design you made.
