Thank you for all this information. I'm planning to build her too, though I may waterline mine.
I also have the Glencoe NS Savannah, which was attacked by eager grand-nephews and has a different fate in mind.
Like the idea of the older ship of the same name; I've a photo of an earlier SS United States I may someday scratch build to go with the more famous version about to be permanently moored off Florida.

yes, true Cu wire is always difficult to straiten, but in this case I used it to give extra strenght to the bowsprite making it a little more stabile on its own and also for futur wiring to masts. something else, this is to show how I made it Attachment:

Looks good, however, for future reference I'd recommend Fly-tying thread for fly fishing (different thicknesses) . They are thinner than the copper, but more importantly, easier to get tight. I once used copper wire for mooring lines and you always seem to get some twist/bend in it. It's never 100% straight. After using fly tying thread for bottle builds, I regret not using it for those mooring lines. Difficult to see, but the crane wire on this one is done with fly tying thread. In any case, a remarkable and unique build. Where did you find plans or drawings of the old Savannah?

the lines are made of 0.1mm Cu, I decided to use Cu and not stretched sprue to give extra strenght Attachment:

Good thinking Neptune... but it will be the 1819 SS Savannah, the Hybride pioneer ship being the first steampowerd ship to cross the Atlantic and the reason NS Savannah got her name and with this said, I changed my topic title
