I’ve been pretty busy lately with the semester’s finals and i didn’t have a lot of time to do much on Kongo i shouldn’t even be doing this today instead i should be going over 8 Accounting chapters which will be in the final this upcoming tuesday but WTH i felt i had to do something besides studying, i’ll get back to it right after this. I got good news and bad news, goods news is she is almost done with the exception of painting the scupper pipes the bad news is i ran out of sasebo paint thanks to my inability of closing the container’s lid . The rigging was done using stretched sprue and painted with black smoke acrylic. I read on her TROM captain Shimazaki was promoted to rear admiral on may 1944, here she is sailing under his flag while performing sea trials after her last refit, too bad she was wearing kure gray and not sasebo, big screw up from my part. Next time you see Kongo she’ll be done, enjoy the shots. Attachment:

Definately weird that you've had such problems, Jose. That would be a right pain. All my posted pics use Photobucket, and I learned about that little adjusted parameter to the upload when I started doing images on Shipbucket, to avoid the automatic resizes that would kill the designed scale for the images. I can imagine it's a right pain, I normally open the files manually when I'm cropping them in Paint Shop Pro, and then save them right back to the directory I downloaded them off the camera once they're cropped and resized.
She really is a beautiful piece of work though Jose, you did some awesome work with the PE on the ship.

Jose, the trick with Photobucket is what filter you set on the uploads - they can automatically resize the images to fit a dimension, or else you can set it to the 1MB limit - I prefer to resize on my own, after cropping, and then upload them. Certainly, I've been watching the build and she looks great - I have my own Fujimi Kongo sitting on the shelf waiting for me to get around to her, and I plan on making some... modifications to her layout.

Gilbert the pleasure will be all mine if you do it, all these shots came through photobucket and i noticed something the quality is not the same as the ones i got saved in my computer. if you want let me know your L'arsenal email and i will email you the unedited copy which i think looks way more crispier in detail. Water still needs some work but its getting there, the awning stanchions are from Flyhawk just like i wrote on the picture however the P.E set doesn’t have that name it comes with the name of “CANOPY” they look pretty good better than the ones i’ve scratchbuilt in the past :nod_1: hehehe more money to spend though. The P.E chrysanthemum crest is a pretty little thing Gilbert. I took a better picture of the new window frame and also well is hard to see but i added a perforated bar right below the signal flag yard. Until now she looks pretty much done i still need to go over some paint mistakes and finish the rigging though.

I was able to finish a couple of things today, i scratchbuilt the plane deck's crane it was a rather simple procedure i think the other crane was the thoughest one of them two i did some work on the davits too, i like the way these are molded to tell you the truth i've always liked plastic davits for being more sturdy than P.E ones i did replace a crude stick which was hanging from the goose neck with P.E reels. I added perforated bars to the backbone support of the pagoda and changed the loop anthena support with a gusset, it looks more refined like this. if you pay attention at the first pictures you'll notice new windows on level 3 i believe, 2 levels after the air defense station ( top level) i went over some 1/350 scale models and this is the kind of window frame that needed to go there.
