It's coming along nicely, though I don't recall any of the Kongos wearing a white ID strip on their funnels.

Hello!!!! Haruna is finally coming closer to completion, after a grueling week-and-a-half of work. i finished washing the deck, completed the turrets and also the flight deck. I am now in the process of making the airplanes and then it'll be time to put everything together, leaving just the rigging to do. Here is the first pic, showing the guns on the side of the hull: http://i31.tinypic.com/2r57tzo.jpgHere is a close up, which also shows some contrast concerning the wash with the hull and the deck. In the style of John Madden (i tried): http://i27.tinypic.com/335dptz.jpgThe next two pictures show the completed flight deck. i didn't glue the catapult so it could rotate freely: http://i25.tinypic.com/33cw004.jpghttp://i30.tinypic.com/sxeltx.jpgThese are the airplanes, which are pretty basic: http://i27.tinypic.com/16m9g88.jpg http://i27.tinypic.com/2r41ypw.jpghttp://i32.tinypic.com/2iqbosj.jpghttp://i25.tinypic.com/73f1br.jpgHere is a panorama pic of almost everything dry fitted onto the hull. its made of two pictures, so the borders look weird. Hello! I didnt get much done this last week, but i did take some pictures of what i did get accomplished. I got the entire deck painted (although it's a bit messy in certain areas), and the funnel area. I am now working on the turrets, flight deck and deck. I will most likely finish the kit sometime this week. Here are some photos: Funnel area: http://i26.tinypic.com/dgny9e.jpghttp://i30.tinypic.com/262bpt4.jpghttp://i28.tinypic.com/2a7fxfp.jpgI apologize if the deck is a bit messily painted, but the wash might camouflage it. Only the stern part is washed so far. http://i26.tinypic.com/ivwen7.jpghttp://i29.tinypic.com/qx085j.jpghttp://i28.tinypic.com/30u8wlj.jpgAnd everything dry fitted: http://i26.tinypic.com/x1m743.jpgthe 2 stern turrets are washed Thank you for your time and please leave a comment, id like to hear your feedback.

Hello i got most of the funnel area on the kit done yesterday.... I attached the second funnel, the lifeboats and some of the searchlights. I decided to paint the supports under the searchlights black and the the beams gray... You'll see in the pictures. I think it ended pretty good. Funnel area, set #1: http://i28.tinypic.com/n5fz9g.jpghttp://i32.tinypic.com/23w4phj.jpghttp://i27.tinypic.com/ozqcm.jpghttp://i30.tinypic.com/2lu9ef6.jpgI decided to paint that "white stripe" on the funnel.... i think it looks great. Post your opinions below. Here is the funnel dry fitted. http://i32.tinypic.com/2na1rhs.jpghttp://i30.tinypic.com/msjarb.jpgHere are the two searchlight towers, but they are not completed yet. You can see what im doing here to represent the support beams. http://i32.tinypic.com/mtp7xi.jpghttp://i32.tinypic.com/25pom77.jpghttp://i29.tinypic.com/j7swmc.jpghttp://i27.tinypic.com/287ekgw.jpgHere is the funnel area dry fitted onto the hull along with the bridge: http://i32.tinypic.com/2vvrf4j.jpghttp://i30.tinypic.com/el9lpe.jpghttp://i27.tinypic.com/hvrrzr.jpgSo this is all for today!!!! Please leave any comments, tips or insults i'll have more pictures later this week

The only thing i love from Haruna is her elongated air defense combat bridge ( last level if you guys are wondering) Kongo's platform was pretty big in lenght but it was never as long as Haruna's. good job so far Bob Jose

I am currently working on the funnels and the area behind the funnels. Pics of that will be posted tomorrow. BTW, on just got two new projects: Tamiya 1:700 Hood & E-class destroyer (im gonna build it as Electra) and Dragon Models 1:700 Bismarck. Both models come without blast bags on the barrels, so any tips on how to make these is appreciated. i saw one way is to make them out of Elmer's glue, but any other ways are good also. thank you

i WAS going to post today, but for some reason tinypic is down for some reason . i completed the bridge yesterday and gave it a nice wash, although in the pictures the wash is more contrasted, or shown, or pronounced. the point is, the wash showed up a lot more messier on camera, but it still looks great. i'll begin working on the funnel area and whatever comes after today, and those pics will probably show up here on monday. ETA for Haruna: about a week, week and a half probably. my builds are usually OOB and i tend to multitask a lot so i end up getting a lot finished on one day, although i pay attention to the details and i make sure its not messy or anything. Last thing anyone wants is a messy model i'll post the new pics as soon as i can bye

Well, here it is, my Haruna in 1:700. I have so far completed the first few steps in the instruction manual, which is making pagoda structure. I have also completed the hull and 6 guns. i encountered some fit issues in the bridge, but these were fixed with sanding. Pretty fun build so far. Feel free to add comments or advice. http://i29.tinypic.com/2wpj7v8.jpghttp://i25.tinypic.com/2uzrrqb.jpghttp://i26.tinypic.com/23jkeg.jpghttp://i29.tinypic.com/im33ts.jpghttp://i31.tinypic.com/302m4c3.jpgBridge structure dry fitted..... http://i30.tinypic.com/fjl2te.jpghttp://i27.tinypic.com/2gwfdzc.jpgThis picture of the hull is made from three diferent pictures stitched together in Phototshop.... find the seams!!! http://i27.tinypic.com/23rohkw.jpgAnd just an extra to show you people what i've done, check out the crazy graf Zeppelin..... I built it before i found out that the Bismarck's camo was designed to make it look smaller (facepalm)....... btw, i think this is the only picture of a built 3deck akagi that isnt from hasegawa.... http://i26.tinypic.com/212fk1w.jpgbye, i'll be posting more soon
