Things have gotten very busy with family and work, and my modeling time has suffered. I haven't given up the ship yet, though. It's encouraging that somebody wants to see the end of the build. I will try to get back to it soon.

I'm making some progress on the island. I would like t model it with a few of the doors open, such as one of the ordnance elevators, the door that leads to the ramp that goes to the vehicle deck, and a door at the aft end where deck equipment is stored. I cut out the doors in question and made simple interiors - not much of this is going to be visible in the finished model.

Here's a couple vehicles I've been working on.

File comment: I made open hatches and some crew sticking out on a couple of the Marine vehicles. I'm planning on having these swimming near the ship.

Unfortunately, since I last worked on the Wasp, I seem to have lost a couple parts. I scratchbuilt this small part of the island. From a couple feet away, it looks ok. Hopefully I won't find other missing sections of the ship!

After a long hiatus, I've been working on the Wasp again. I've gotten the air wing done now, and I've been working on some crew to populate the well deck and hangar deck. The island has also been started. I'll post some pictures.

I've been plugging away at the airwing; no interesting photos to post yet. However, I have been working on some accessories for fun in between coats of paint. The WEM photoetch for the air wing comes with some nice little accessories, like parts to make liquid oxygen carts and plain flat carts. I played around with these to see what I could come up with.

A couple minor updates. Still working on the aircraft; putting together the CH-53's now. I did an interior on one of them, and am using the WEM PE external fuel tank pylons. I'm going to put one of them in the hangar deck with the tail folded and a couple maintenance hatches folded.

I also got my hands on some UH-1's from Iron Shipwright. The folks there were very kind and accommodating, and sent me extra UH-1's instead of the AH-1's that come in the set they sell. They're resin, so I've sanded and primed them so far. I think they'll be a nice addition to the air wing.

Last night I finished a kind of trivial detail I've been working on. I found these pictures of bombs without nose cones or tail fins in racks on aircraft carriers, and I thought I'd try to replicate them for the Wasp. The diameter of rod I made them out of would be approximately Mk 83's, as far as I can tell.

I'm working on the v-22's as well, and i thought it would be fun to pose one with the rear doors open. I decided to make a basic interior for the little bit you're going to be able to see from the rear. I'm using WEM's photo etch set for the aircraft, so there's a cockpit assembly to put in the front. It will be interesting to see how much of the cockpit you can see through the windows on the finished product.

I like your way of thinking...i gonna follow you, looking for more fine ideas before i get started with the wasp

Keep up this great work
