Topic review - 1/350 Trumpeter Admiral Panteleyev (Finished)
Author Message

Very good work. :thumbs_up_1: I like the model. The deck looks through the dark wash and pigments very realistically. The main deck of russian ships has after some time a brown shade. But the base color was dark gray.

Hi!

It's the "toilet paper" water. So all you need is toiler paper (well any tissue paper will do) and white glue (brand doesn't matter I pick the cheapest one).
Thin the glue with water, lay sheets of paper on your base, use big brush to apply thinned glue. Add more layers to produce crests etc. Painted with different shades of blue acrylics.
After that one spray can of cheapest high closs laquer from hardware store (this has about 10 layers). After couple of days of drying paint white tops with oil paints and give one last layer of
gloss. Then just secure ship to base and add acrylic gel to tie it to the water. This technique should be in the tip and tricks section of this very forum aswell (cant remember the author).

Hope it helps!

Absolutely friggin gorgeous. What water technique did you use and are you willing to share because that's the best water I've seen yet. :thumbs_up_1:

Truly one of my favourite builds I have seen for a while, its not only about the finished model but the understanding of how to build up a varied tone such as the technique used on the hull to give subtle colour changes on the hull plating..If you photograph this model in the correct light it could be difficult to tell it from the original...
.Well done!!

Outstanding. I love the look you got with the railings. It couldn`t have been easy to create.

Painted some details.

Firstly painted dark gray to represent the parts of railings that are wired.
Lifepreservers got a new coat of gloss orange to help them stand out a bit.

The railing look I was after

Some more sneak peaks

Ship will be attached with 2 screws to the base to "tighten" it up. Will add some acrylic gel to tie it to the base when I decide it's finished enough though.

Yes it is.

There's a lot of small details still left unpainted so no worries at this moment on them :cool_2:

On a side note working on the middle superstructure atm sanding the seam and it fits very nicely to the deck.

Phew.

Edit:

Couple of shots

The hangar is inclined. The front end is much lower than the aft end.

Koppalakki (is that Finish?) very good job. Please take in mind that the star on the bow is red and that the anchors are black... :wink_3.gif :wink_3.gif

Hi

The helo is actually pretty big in real life though it might be a bit out of scale. The hangar roofs open aswell when the helo is stored.
I tried to find a photo showing that but couldn't find it for now.
Here's a photo of the helo on the deck though.
