Depending on the source, Naganami seems credited with torpedoing several different ships, including Northampton, IIRC.

When you get some photos of that build, post a link please. I'd love to see it! I've heard speculation that [i]Naganami[/i] may have been the destroyer that hit [i]Portland[/i] at Tassagfaronga. I haven't seen too many [i]Portland[/i] builds so maybe I'll put that one on my to do list.

The idea is rerally great, will be interesting to watch the progress and final result :thumbs_up_1:

This is an exciting project for me as my grandfather was aboard the [i]New Orleans[/i] From Pearl Harbor until the Battle of Tassafaronga. I am in the very beginning stages of this build. This is a project that I've been wanting to do for quite some time now. It will be a diorama of the [i]USS New Orleans CA-32[/i] accompanied by [i]USS Maury DD-401[/i], making their way into Tulagi Harbor on the morning of December 1st, 1942 immediately following the Battle of Tassafaronga. The first image depicts what I plan to recreate in 1:700 scale. If you pay close attention to the forward most starboard side of [i]New Orleans[/i], you will notice the very tip of [i]Maury[/i]'s bow, as she was assisting [i]New Orleans[/i] into the harbor.
