Hey Larry, thanks so much for your kind words and encouragement. I'll try to make sure I do a good job on my Constitution so it can give you some joy in seeing her again. I'm sure yours came out great when you made her in your teens. There are some builders out there that can wayyy more in depth with historical accuracy and details but again, I appreciate the positive reply.

And Dan, as I was doing research on the Constitutions history I learned that she made a trip around the world in 1845 and found that really amazing. I also liked the paint scheme on her at the time and the captain. Here's a little history connecting it with Hawaii and it's trip around the world... https://ussconstitutionmuseum.org/2016/12/07/pearl-harbor/

Interesting. Why an 1845 configuration?

Howdy Sean, and welcome to the forums. I just finished reading your entire blog on this build and I gotta tell you, you are doing one bang-up job on this ship. What you have done so far is nothing short of spectacular, and I have no reason not to believe the remainder of the build will be just as impressive.

Way back when I was in my teens (I'm 76 now), I built the Revel model of the the USS Constitution as well as the clipper ships Cutty Sark and the Thermopolae. That was back at the time I didn't take the time to detail or to do as good a job as I could. It was nowhere near as nice a job as you are doing. I do know I really enjoyed rigging these ships - especially the Cutty Sark, and was very proud when I finished.

I will be following your blog with great interest. Good luck and have fun!

Hi everyone, here's a link to my blog where I'm attempting my first model build ever. I chose a pretty difficult one apparently but I'm excited to see how it turns out. I started the Revell 1:96 USS Constitution build a year ago and then took a long break but I'm back now to try and finish it. I'd say I'm about 40% complete. This website has been a huge help in regards to viewing other's builds and giving me advice/tips on constructing my own ship, so thanks to the fellow builders. Here's my link! Feel free to comment or give advice either here or on the blog itself. Feedback is welcomed!
