Alas, no. He (the Reichsfuhrer) was just making sure that the little flexipad thingy wasn't a bomb. Read "Weapons of Choice" (I forgot the author) for the full story.

I don't have this book but on Amazon.com a new one is US$14.95. IIRC I've seen it retailing for abt that price in the bookstores.

(So what happened after the Reichsfuehrer left? Did the subordinate push the button? Did he blow himself up?)

The one I have is entiltled simply, "Battleships". It has a history of most, if not all, US battleships. I checked on amazon, and it apparently is pretty cheap, compared to the specific battlship books.

I believe the Missouri and the Arizona book retail for abt $50 each in the US.
