I've got it and the photos are high quality. However, the photos are limited by date; none are more recent than circa 1936 ish

Thanks, that helps a lot. With my many other books this might be just more of the same. And 1936 does limit the selection.

I found this book on the 'Hobby Link Japan' website entitled "Japaese Warship Photograph Collection". It includes hundreds of IJN warship photos from the Takagi Hiroshi collection. From the sample pages and the book cover, it looks to be a large format book with very high quality photo reproductions and a reasonable price of $44.00.
I have not heard of Takagi Hiroshi before and am interested to know if this collection of his offers some new photos of IJN warships that are not already in print in the numerous IJN photo books, all of the major publications I already own.
I am wondering if any forum members have seen a copy of this book or know if it offers some photos that are not already in circulation. We all know that no matter how many different IJN photos books you buy, they often just repeat the same tired old photos again and again. Can anyone comment on the Hiroshi collection and if it contains something different than the usual photos. http://www.hlj.com/product/KJS81389#
