Need to determine if the morskie plans accurately depict Royal Oak. and are they proportionally correct?
I have started re-drawing the basic hull lines as they appear to be correct dimensionally. And best I can tell they have proper shape and structure/equipment locating. If anyone knows differently please yell "STOP". I do not want to waste time. ( one never knows how much they have )
Cheers

peppe,.. again many thanks for all the drawings sent,.. I was starting to think I might never find drawings for Royal Oak unless they came from National Maritime Museum UK. I have a few sets of drawings for other ships, a couple have been redrawn from poor quality internet copy. Most are Russian or French vessels. I'll put up a list at some point free to any who want them.
Linux,.. My curiosity is peaked a bit. I'm assuming you have an interest in the Royal Oak. Please forgive me if I come off as prying too much, but you said you'd not studied the plans closely enough ( again assuming ) to determine accuracy. To me it sounds like you are familiar with the subject. I intend to start a build of Royal Oak shortly. Any input on things to watch for or pay attention to regarding detail and accuracy would be greatly appreciated.
I have viewed several photos of "ships of class" and noticed differences in super structure, fire control, mast, etc. thats obvious at first glance. I would think a myriad of smaller details that require a close look or knowledge of, also appear.

The 1/192 plans of HMS Royal Oak were drawn by "AJR" (as far as I can make out), who I presume to be one of the owners of A&A Plans - Alan Raven or John (Arthur) Roberts. Perhaps someone can confirm?
The plan and profile - sheet one of the two-sheet set - were also published in 1/384 scale in British Warships of the Second World War (Arco Publishing Company, Inc., 1972, ISBN 0668026073), also by Alan Raven and John Roberts.
Yes I have the plans and they seem excellent, though I have not studied them in detail.

A&A Plans published 1/192 plans of HMS Royal Oak, general arrangement as in 1937, in 1971. The two-sheet set includes hull lines. The A&A Plans were latterly owned by Sambrook Marine (and distributed by WEM in the UK), and then were bought by Taubman Plans: http://www.taubmansonline.com/SIRROYALOAK.htm
