Depending on what ship you are looking for, you can also get copies of some of their books frmom Freetime Hobbies:

I've gotten several of their PDF plans and usually get them in a day or two via email.

There is no doubtin my mind that this is the classic home business hitting a production ceiling

Start small selling plans and a few books
Expand, and then suddenly become world known

Now unable to fill orders, but not honest enough to admit it to waiting customers, or too greedy.
Probably unwilling or able to hire people to help

What follows (and probably soon)
A growing clamour of unhappy "I never recieved my stuff" posts on the net.
A rapid , spread of the word.."he's unreliable"
A collapse of business.

And then we all have to look for some one else.

On the internet, only those who truly look out for their customers and reputation survive.

(And yes, i too am waiting, waiting, waiting...................")

Hi
Have recently joined the forum, this is my first post.

I have purchased 2 plans from PM, HMS Cornwall (PDF) and HMS Onslow (PDF + Book). The PDF's both arrived within the stated 72 hours and included a request to confirm confirmation, which I dutifully did. Unfortunately not so the book, I orderd this late November 2013 and despite numerous email to profilemorskie@home.pl nothing has been heard. I then emailed PROFILE_MORSKIE@vp.pl and did receive a promise to resend the book, however still nothing. I'm about to contact PayPal for a refund.

Not happy with the service, with world communications the way they are there should be no excuse. :Mad_5:

RIchard,

Thank you, I will keep the faith a little longer :), I paid by Paypal so have a 45 day period to make a claim if the goods do not arrive.

The primary reason I went for the 'E' book was speed of delivery, though the book has no plans as such, but it would have helped with project developement and planning until the plans arrived.

Forty one plans ehh!, you must have the lot by now LOL.

Kindest

I've just bought the USS Baltimore book and plans as pdfs, however 10 days later my wallet is lighter and no pdf's in my inbox, despite several emails asking what is going on, is this normal service, I've read on some Polish forums that non delivery is normal, I hope that is not the case here!. Anyone else been burnt by this service recently ?.

Best

Thanks for the comments guys. The PM pdfs are password protected, so using photoshop etc. is out. I'll figure something out.

The pdf for the Prince of Wales turned up today, and it is indeed the complete set of drawings from their monograoh. With 39 pages for ten euros, it seems to me, pretty good value. :woo_hoo:

The image editing software I use - GIMP - can open PDF files directly and import their pages as new images. It can then easily assemble these pages into a larger image. Presumably Photoshop can do the same?

Most Windows PCs already have screen capture ability built-in....just hold Alt + PrtScrn...then release the keys. Next, open any of a number of standard Windows document programs (Paint, WordPad, etc.) and paste the captured screen image into that program: edit --->paste.

FYI

I have free screenshot program, if it can be useful for any member.
Check the sample for this program, what it does:

You can also pan over every portion of the plan and take a screenshot of each section and then use photoshop or other image editing programs to move and match the parts on the computer.

PM are now offering expanded pdfs that show hull lines, fittings etc, from their website. at 10 euros, it seems a pretty good deal to me. I've ordered one to see how the pdf differs from the paper copy.

Does anybody know how to stitch individual pages from the pdf together? I would like to have the hull on one sheet rather than several.

Hello Steve!
Unless there is a specific program that brings together the parties, and then can be printed on plotter.
Otherwise, you can only print the pieces, then put them together with tape and make a copy of the new set ready.
Note the pattern of ribs for the hull, with a standard distance, and at the time of joining, do continue the amendment.

Sorry for not getting back quicker!
Good point on the frame lines, I'm ordering the book too, though in my case as the model will be a 1/144th stand-off scale so it's less of an issue. My underwater hull lines will be simplified (along with 15 to 20mm of extra draught) to endure the scale typhoons we get on our pond in Edinburgh!!

I have a couple of 1/144th F-Toys Petes I got in Taiwan a few years ago so I'll be OK in that regard. :)
