Will these be available in the US in the Amazon store?

Hi Bob,

Yes i have seen it on the US Amazon. I have also noticed on Amazon a Shipcraft "Essex Class Carriers of the second world war" to be released in march 2009. Additionally "Kongo class Battlecruisers" and "Bismarck and Tirpitz" should be available in a near future.

Cheers

I thought these Shipcraft books were pretty much limited to covering kitted models of their respective subjects? To my knowledge, very few kits of these excellent ships have appeared on the market (hence, all the hoopla over the much-anticipated Tamiya E-class, in recent months), especially in styrene injection format.

We've have the venerable old Airfix Hotspur available for decades, and I've seen a resin block or two in the past, but it seems the A-Is have otherwise had woefully little market representation--surely not enough to base an entire volume on? I wonder if this book will break with recent Shipcraft tradition by featuring some scratchbuilt works, or even (God forbid!) a genuine "how to" guide for something other than choosing the right paint and PE.

I'd also like to see something come out of the Shipcraft line besides the usual milquetoast kit and PE reviews, free advertising, and back-of-the-cereal-box research that has spoiled a number of other books in the series. Some of thes volumes have been little more than glorified travel brochures, IMHO. Look how bad the Yorktowns one turned out!

Maybe this one won't be like those others.....?

Yes, Les has been hard at work on this one, a few of my builds will hopefully make it in there too
