Re: For the French National Day |

Much better , ask for a "galette" ( buckwheat pancake ) with some "andouille de Guéméné" ( local tripes sausage ) ... what you absolutely have to eat is an "Araignée de mer" , just like a king crab , just lesser in size , really top food , as anywhere in France by the way .. I spent three months at Brest in 2001 , being Propulsion Officer back then , on board a E-71 Belgian frigate , those three months were a wonderful discovery of Brittany , I had my motorcycle there , easier to travel . regards , Laurent

@ Mr.Baumann: For food in Brittany just ask for "une crèpe beurre-sucre et du cidre please" Are you going to Douarnenez (nice old ships there)
Have a nice trip, Kenavo ! (bye in Brittany)

Hi I made a mistake in my previous message. Please cancel the "no" and read : Thanks a lot for yours messages. Laurent , you're absolutely right for portholes. I will modify them. For the funnel , if you have photos... Kind regards Sebastien

Re: For the French National Day |

For the english speaking guys here , a little translation : I've been for two years & a half , chief engineer on the M924 "Primula" , a belgian tripartite , this is why I have some doubts about the portholes on the "la Croix du Sud's" hull the only french tripartites having portholes on their hulls are the ex-belgians CMT's , "Dianthus" , "Iris" & "Fuschia" , wearing now the names "Capricorne" , "Céphée" & "Verseau" Inside the funnel , there are three outlets for the "Astazou" gasturbines driving the 25O Kw alternators , one bigger outlet for the main propulsion engine and a little outlet for the DAF auxiliary generator ( 160 Kw ) . Not so easy to represent at scale 1/350 , I know ... a little aside : the french sailors are "fighting" to get aboard the ex belgian CMT , the accomodations are a lot more comfy than on the french ones ... a nice piece of modelling , though Regards , Laurent
