Finally got my 1:400 Hapdog model of the USS Missouri complete. Photos aren't great because I don't have a good close-up camera. This is the approximate color scheme and configuration of the Mighty Mo as she appeared September 2, 1945 in Tokyo Bay. One glaring omission is the overhead colors. I could never get the blue for turret tops and other flat surfaces called for in the camo scheme, so I gave up on it. I also left the anchor chain gold instead of the proper black. Used Artwox teak camo deck and PE rails. I did some of the ladders on the weather deck and the veranda deck and omitted some rails in the superstructure (removed the plastic ladders built into the model). Used the stained wood base with four brass lamp finials. Since the last photo, I added the the ship name plaque from the kit done in gold. All in all, I'm happy with it. My first large-scale model and I'm attached to the Mo because I was a volunteer tour guide for several years at Pearl Harbor.

Under construction.

Temporarily placed over the mantel in front of a Geoffry Hunt of HMS Artemis. Since, I've moved it to the entertainment center.
