Hi Phil,

Yes, that's really a large undertaking! Beginning with the hull: have you worked out a way to eliminate the bulges and get the side walls vertical? I assume you will build it waterline like most of your ships, otherwise you'll need to place the rudder, the props and the propshaft 5 scale feet backwards.

Do you have a set of plans of London's superstructure after the rebuild?

HMS Suffolk is next on my to do list .I haven`t investigated it fully yet .but I will need to cut down the quarterdeck as a start.

I get the feeling that the releases of Cornwall and Kent are going to be keeping you busy for a while.

Looking forward to your HMS York, btw. :joker:

That`s right David ,the bow and stern areas were painted in that colour ,but I`m convinced that "A" & "B" turrets were also painted in Mountbatten pink. There is a good aerial view of Berwick in the M-o-W book on the counties .believe it is page 21?

Nice one Phil, still creating beautiful ships. I'm considering a Berwick when I get my kit.

Cheers,

Yes Jim I think it may be possible to back date this kit to her earlier appearance, but it would be a lot of work .Better not look too much it gets my brain box working overtime!!

Thanks Phil

Thanks so much for this post Phil. Ive just bought the Cornwall kit and was thinking about converting it to Berwick. Your build has made the decision for me and provided some helpful reference photos as well!
Keep up the good work
Jonathan

One word of warning about this kit,Part c11 ,the twin 4" gun barrels are attached to the sprue by six very thick attachment points ,which are the very devil to remove ,without breaking the thin barrels.so beware!

Fantastic work! Thanks for sharing!!!

Any photos of her under construction so we can see the modifications you made?

Would be greatly appreciated by some.

And were you working from NMM plans or photos?

Please advise.

Thanks!

Mike E.
