It is always nice to have a new Mike McCabe release to start the building season so here it goes.
This is the large Thames barge which is part of the new tugs and barges set. The barge itself is a very sharp one piece casting. I did replace the leeside leeboard and removed the wheelhouse. Otherwise it was mostly painting and rigging. The kit includes bass for the masts and booms and I added sails from painted cigarette paper. I simplified the rigging to basic standing rigging and sheets in stretched sprue as I could not really work out how to do the complex set of lines which Thames barges use to reef and control the main sail.
