Topic review - 1/700 Peacock class corvette (Dodo Models)

very good job on the model, no major issues; the flag is a bit too big though, but i do believe the intent was to magnify its being a PN ship; as for the base, the wake is ok, and as with the other poster, its the reefs and out crops that mildly ( IMHO) made the dio a bit off tangent; consider the depth of the hull in relation to the closeness to the shore line- seas traversed by the ship should be darker as the bottom of the hull travelling in a shallow area will have the tendency for the hull to be grounded- and knowing the PN, CO's are very wary of such to happen to their ship; the outrcrop and rock distances too to each other, as exemplified by the color nevertheless indicate extreme shallowness that again would make travelling of ships and even craft that dont have flat bottom hulls hazardous; but nevertheless the message is very clear- showing the flag and expressing sovereignty over these islets and reefs; bravo zulu dr d!

Maybe you should have skipped the sand. It looks like some boulders scattered about on a beach. Just have little rocky points sticking up out of the water.

That's smaller than Gilligan's Island!

I actually used this picture as my guide, hence the boulders. I actually wanted to add additional water effects to completely submerge the sand banks. But after two layers of water effects, I decided that I didn't want to push my luck any further for fear of completely ruining it.

Nice model. But is that realistic to have such huge boulders on the sand banks?

The ship is the BRP Artemio Ricarte (PS-37), a Philippine Navy corvette. The model was built from the Dodo Models 1/700 Peacock class corvette resin kit, and was modified to resemble the ship in Philippine Navy service. The diorama shows the ship patrolling the disputed Scarborough Shoal in the South China Sea.
