The term as I was using it, as an adjective, means anything "sea based". I was including civilian water ships in that  . A Starship is still a ship, says so in the name. You're not asking for "non-naval ships", you're asking for space ships. We have room for non-naval non-space ships (e.g. civilian ships that float on water) in the Amphibs and Transports section: viewforum.php?f=51

I just realized, this is a model "Ship" forum but there's no section for non-naval ships. What about Model Starships for instance. So I posted this thread on the "What-if" Section to ask about it. There should be a separate section for "non-naval" ships like my Imperial class Star Destroyer, or my Battletech Texas Class Battleship.
