Does anybody know whether Dull Black, the darkest of the US Navy's World War II camouflage colors, was "dull" in the sense of having a matte finish in contrast to the semigloss of the other colors, or whether it was "dull" in the sense of having a muted appearance, and being therefore more the darkest practicable gray rather than a true black?
