Organized chaos as usual here in the Den. A place for everything. and everything someplace!

About a dozen projects active at any given time, so not always a lot of kits being completed but I'm just fine with that.

Resurrecting a great topic that is much more now relevant to the "stay inside" modeler today. A lot of the older photos disappeared by photo hosting take overs, but many still remain! :thumbs_up_1: (Sorry for such an old necro-post, but these were some great working spaces.)
Cheers

Well... here is mine, although it really does get messier sometimes... But I like to keep things clean and tidy - it keeps me in the right frame of mind.

Thats a 27" iMac in the background (with the Pontos instructions blown up massively) so that should give you some sense of scale. Its desk area is not huge, but it is more than enough for most jobs. And I have a spray booth which goes on the desk too... but I take the iMac away when I'm using it...

Tools are in dedicated drawers either side and under the bench. Most small items are in clear nylon boxes... as are sub assemblies while I am building so everything stays clean.

(Touch of OCD you think??? :cool_1: ).

I made this desk some time ago, stand on a track, that can swivel and move closer to you, and can be pushed up and down on the table without touching the model. Since i moved to a new house, this workstation got divided into 2 parts, but its still very effective to use. The second image was early stages (without the wheels) to test if this will tip over when its pulled closer to you. Maybe someone can benefit with a design like this if they have the space to build a long desk like this.

I love seeing other people's work space, especially ones mid project with tools and paints everywhere.
A messy work place shows that that is where the magic happens, this is where work gets done and we are the masters of that domain

Here is my work bench in the middle of my 9 IJN destroyer group build
It's my desktop but I hardly ever use it since I use my laptop for everything now

Amazing array of functional workspaces guys. Very inspirational.
I eventually did setup my workspace after starting this thread and
borrowed many ideas...but have since had to break it down
and store it due to unexpected developments. Bummer.
Haven't been able to build a model for what seems like ages now. :-(

Hopefully, in about 6 months, I'll be able to restore it aided
by the great submissions posted on this thread...and then maybe,
just maybe build something...I hope!~

Thank you to all who shared their work areas. :-)

Thanks Doug, program works great. Here is my bench. It's a bit of a mess and I have several projects going at once.

Hello, Mac :wave_1:
I've used Tiny Pic http://tinypic.com/ for posting pictures here and other boards for years. It is free, pretty easy and durable (I have pictures on this thread from 2009 that still show-up, with out any cost to me). Just upload to the site from your computer, and select the size (message board) and paste the link to the message board (some boards have a separate line/section for pasting pictures).

It may get repetitious if you have a lot of pictures you want to post, but for three or five at a time works fine. I have no financial interest in this company :thumbs_up_1:

Cheers,

Doug

You have to shrink them down using a program like Paint or use an external hosting site as instructed using Method 2 here.
