Song has crafted some beautiful non ship models, such as the beautiful Diesel Locomotive!

I have seen some models of temples and the replication of the full scale expert woodworking is quite beautiful to admire!

Song,

I have been to Korea and Japan, and the complex wood work in the temples is amazing. Given your talents for working wood your model will be beautiful!

Hi Song,
I was expecting another warship, yet the Korean Budist temple will do nicely for sure, albeit probably not reported on this forum !
Whatever the subject, the only important point is that you enjoy doing it...

Song,

Well done!

Have you ever counted the number of individual pieces you have made for one of your ship models? There are a lot of parts there!

Phil

Hi,Phil!
I don't count the number of individual pieces. I think it's not importance to make model.

Song:

Jig is still hiding so I cobbled up a simple version so you get the idea. Just angled slots cut with a razor saw into a piece of plexiglas at the appropriate spacing for the scale.

First I cut strips for fails and treads. I tape a rail to the back of the jig then insert treads in the slots with the smallest amount of wood glue possible. After the glue sets I add glue to the protruding treads and attach the other rail. When dry I remove the tape and slip the inclined ladder out of the jig, trimming the rails to appropriate length.

For my ladders I have had best luck with Strathmore art paper which is stiffer than styrene. For styrene ladders one would probably have to make an aluminum jig.

Cheers: Tom

Hi Song,
it looks amazing, as always. Can you tell us what wood have you used for the gangway and gangway crane? Did you bend the wood or cut a curve shape?
Regards,
Phil

Thank you, Phil!
I used both of them.
1.bending : I used Bamboo.(It's davits for boat)
2.cutting :The others(The place of not required tension...)

Very nice job on the accommodation ladder at this scale. I ended up making them from Strathmore paper in a similar manner, but using a plexiglas jig with slots cut at an angle for the spacing. The wood glue I used did not adhere to the plexiglas so easy enough to remove.

Very nice indeed!

Thank you, Tom!
Show me your plexiglas jig please.
