Thank you. This might be the very first kit produced entirely with 3d technology. If not the Moon landing than the next big thing... :cool_1:

Hi All.
Finally after rather a prolong inactivity I made my 1/700 HMS LIDDESDALE ( Hunt I ) available through Paper Lab's Shapeways store. You can find it here:https://www.shapeways.com/shops/paper-lab?section=1%2F700+Hunt+I&s=0

To build the entire model you need Waterline Hull, Lower Hull and Mega Sprue. Unless of course interested in Waterline only in which case you don't need Lower Hull. Mega Sprue holds all the smaller plastic parts necessary to build this model. I called it Mega because it combines all deckhouses and 3 original sprues into one set. Makes it also less expensive.

For those who don't need the entire model but would be interested in some of it's parts I still provide 3 smaller sprues and 3 major deckhouses as stand alone parts that can be order individually.

Assembly instructions are in PDF format can be downloaded form here: https://we.tl/t-x1A6YAw2TW
This link will stay live for 7 days. After that I can email it to anyone who's interested. Paper Lab website is very old and soon will be deleted while the new website is being worked on but unfortunately I have no idea how long before it's operational. Could be months...

The same for PE and decals set. Please contact me directly. Cost is $10 which includes postage worldwide.

They look good!

I also released a small set today. As I plan to build many 1/2000 scale ships, I got a problem that Ocean Moon kits have no boats included. So, now I provide boats in 1/2000 scale. Tiny, and as detailed as you can get in this scale.

Hi Rob,
from Fpmodel on Shapeways I bought the torpedo cruiser SMS Panther (early and late version) and SMS Tiger plus the torpedo gun boats SMS Trabant and SMS Satellit. All in the "Smooth Fine Plastic" quality.

I think that these are good models. I will replace the masts and probably the davits, perhaps also the 47 mm guns (if I find a better source for them).

Here some photos of the ones I bought:

Thanks for the links. I purchased the Admiral Scheer parts in time to have the sale pricing. Now if the designers can offer their products in gray resin that would make it no longer necessary to sand-blast these otherwise excellent parts. Model Monkey does this now so maybe it will catch on.

I just released the 1928 Rhine river cargo ship Cimbria (or her sister Normannia) in 1/700

This little ship is a typical inland motor freighter designed in middle of the 1920es for european rivers. These were very numerous on Rhine, Danube, Seine, and all other waterways. These would also be found in coastal ports in major river estuaries, bringing the goods from inland factories, supplies and fuel to be exported on ocean ships, or picking foreign goods for inland customers.

This particular ship is based on the plans published in 1928 Werft Reederei Hafen magazine. A pair of fast inland motor ships, Cimbria and Normannia were built for N.V. Reederij v/h J.H.Koenigsfeld, Rotterdam in german Maschinenfabrik Christof Ruthof, Mainz-Kastel and Regensburg in 1928. These were designed to serve the overseas goods export business of the owners, bringing the cargo loads to Rotterdam from such major industrial centers like Strassburg, Frankfurt or Basel. They were built for rapid turnaround, and high speed for an inland ship. They were between the first diesel driven inland ships, as diesel engines made a good progress in the mid-20es, and were much easier to operate, reducing the harbor time.

The ships were 64,90 meter long overall, 8 meter wide, up to 2,65m draught, and could carry 767 tons on that draught. Their 600 Hp engines gave them 19,5kmh when loaded to the more usual 1,8m draught.

We are finalizing 1/350 version, and it is planned to get her in 1/200, 1/220, 1/250, 1/288, 1/300, 1/350, 1/400, 1/450, 1/500, 1/600, 1/720 and 1/800 scales in the next few weeks, aiming for model railroaders and ship modelers.

Ho-lee mother-of-god!

That Mikasa looks phenomenal for whatever scale that is (looks like it might be 1/2400).

That is far better than the white-metal miniatures I have seen in even larger scales (such as 1/1200).

I want the entire IJN Fleet in that scale.

That model is only available in the cheap, unsuitable quality - likely because of the size. For sure not a good replacement for the Pit-Road kit.
