Scott for what it's worth,...I have shot an Artwoks deck with Model Masters dullcote lacquer . Very light thinned down coats to seal and dull down the gloss paint ... No adverse affects other than trapping some lint and dust particles...very minor. I would think that shooting a thinned stain with enough volume to cover the wood might disrupt the adhesive or make the deck warp or bubble.? How about test a piece first and shoot it with a sealer in light coats then top it off with a very faint "blue" stain/paint....very thin and very lightly....then seal that....whatcha think?

I'm in a quandary, I need to paint my Pontos deck for my 1:200 Iowa deck blue. Does anyone have any pointers/suggestions? I have thinned deckblue I use to airbrush. It's thin like a stain, so I'm leary of using it. Do I need to put on a sealer first as to insure it's an even color. Any help would be great.
