I stumbled upon this thread, but it was rather fortuitous, as Five Star Models has recently released, as a part of their SEED Models line of Small Ships and Auxiliaries (quickly became my favorite line of 1/700 models given the ships are so small, and can be assembled and painted in an afternoon).

But they have a Model of the Thonburi/Dhonburi (incidentally, the “Th/Dh” seem to be pronounced the same).

Very nice 3D model! How did you manage to reproduce the hull lines from the naval museum? We're Thai ourselves, and so far we're unable to find any information of the ship's hull. We did visit the memorial, which isn't very far from our home, and that means we would be able to measure the bridge piece by piece if we need to! Very curious to know how you created such a good-looking hull. :thumbs_up_1:

I have quite a lot of pictures of the ship. It is possible to draw plans of superstucture and artylery (using the photos), but problems begin with hull and smal elements on the deck.
FrancisMcN - I have this magazine. These plans are good for building waterline model in small scale, but when I compare them with my pictures and try draw the hull I find so many mistakes that I give up. Main problem is: shape of main deck and waterline deck on stern are nearly similiar, which means, sideboards are flat and perpendicular to water. It shouldn't be.
Modelarstwo Okrętowe is really good magazine and on other edition I found good sample of Japanese deck equipment and boats. I think that, Japanese used their typical stuff to equip the ship.
Other problem is the shape of the bow. On the plans this part is really broad, but on the memorial in Naval Academy it is slimmer. Of course it is possible that the builders changed it, but what if they used the original part of ship.

If it is the cruiser also known as Dhonburi, then the 12th edition of the Polish magazine has 1/400th drawings at waterline:

For underwater lines, the only source I can suggest is the old MAP plan of AYUTHIA dating from the 1960s:

I'm not aware of hull lines, though they must be available somewhere. Google images is probably the most accessible set of images. But, you probably know that.

I just started to build a model of the HTMS Thonburi in 1:200 scale. I am looking for available drawings and photographs of this ship, especially a hull with underwater part.
