Now there are some more 1/700 kits of Dutch frigates available.

De Zeven Provinciën (LCF) class

1/700 by Dodo Models:

The class will be also available in 1/350 again by Naval Models.

Here some photos of the real ships:

Zr. Ms. Tromp (2015)
Zr. Ms. Evertsen (2013)
Hr. Ms. De Ruyter (2012)

There is also a 1/350 kit by Naval Models including a update kit for the last version.

Holland class (not really a frigate, a large OPV)

The Dutch Navy operated 6 Cannon-class DE's up to the 1960's, classified as frigates. It's very easy to convert Pitroad's 1:700 Cannon-class to a Dutch DE, in fact they even supply the Dutch flags (and many others) on the decal sheet. Here's some progress on Hr.Ms. Van Amstel:

Cool, finally somebody is building something Dutch. I'd love to see more kits of the Dutch Navy since they have some really attractive and powerful ships. Unfortunately only few kits (and in the WRONG scale e.g. 1/350) are out there. M-class is good for the Belgians, Portuguese and Chiliean builders too!

Hi, DEBVD!
A nice build you got yourself going there!
Nice ship, out of the ordinary , and certainly a very nice kit!
Go ahead and start a thread in the "picture post" section. I should like to follow up you progress!

You are right, but I do not think the forecastle arrangement will have many differences...

Looks very good! Keep the images coming, those MP frigates are sharp-looking ships.

Too bad MW doesn't do anything in 1:700, my scale.

Hai fellow modellers,

I have been following this forum for some time now. I am very pleased and enthusiastic over this forum.
:newbie: I have seen many new things and method’s I sure can use now or in the future. :thumbs_up_1:

I am building now the Multi purpose Frigate of the Karel Doorman Class of the Dutch Navy.

This is my second resin ship and I got I of a friend who was already starting painting the bottom and then stopped of the complexity of the building with resin.

So I sanded the bottom and made some corrections to the rudders and propulsion. And I started with the hangar bay and the mast.

So please give you comments during the building of my ship. :wave_1:
