Perhaps it is also possible to convert this model to the British Round Table class - I do not know, if this or the "Mini and Beyond" model would be the better starting point:

HMAS Tobruk, 1/700

For those interested in Cold-War-era and modern RFA ships, the Shapeways vendor "Mini and Beyond" now offers a number of RFA vessels of different types:

To the best of my knowledge no one has produced a kit (and I assume you are looking at the "standard scales " of 1/700 or 1/350) of any RFA.

I don't have a range of photos to hand, but here is my Sir Galahad with a bit of extra paint and vehicles, posed in a small,as yet unfinished diorama. As stated it is 1/1250th and everything you see is scratch built .

There are some very poor examples of other RFA vessels in 1/1200 scale made ,made in resin and possibly white metal if this is what you are looking for.

This is my Regent model "razzing" the CVA-01 in a small diorama, again in 1/1250....

All

I spent from four years from 1988 to 1992 sailing on Royal Fleet Auxiliary Service Vessels

(RFAs RESOURCE, BLACK ROVER, OLNA, OLMEDA, SIR GALAHAD and ORANGELEAF)

I would be particularly interested in knowing if fellow board members have come across kit models, or models of any kind of RFA vessels on their travels.

I would be particluarly fond of modelling RFA Sir Galahad where I served for 6 months during the first Gulf War (Operation Granby, better known by the US pseudonyms Operation Desert Shield then Desert Storm), and RFA Orangeleaf where I served as Third Navigating Officer, during duties as West Indies Guardship (WIGS) Tanker along with HMS Cardiff (WIGS), and my first Vessel as a fully qualified Deck Officer.

Thanks
