Thx.
I know about the printable version, but that is not what I am looking for. I enlarged the Agassiz frame plans in Cad and am drawing the frames at this moment. These will be laser cutted from multiplex.
Steam engine is underway from Ebay.

For Decals, there's a site here that has Flower Class Corvette Decals: https://www.abovebelow.ca/product/514-r ... gory_id=18As for the 3D files, well, there's a guy who sells a fully 3D printed version of the Flower Class called "Bens Worx". I'm building up the Castle Class printes that he sells. You pay $50 for the print files, then you can print them all yourself.

I am planning in building a model of the Agassiz. I do have the book Anatomy of the ship Agassiz. The frame and line plans in the book are really inaccurate when enlarged.
Is there someone that has CAD files available of a correct frame and lines plan?
I need to draw my frames in CAD to be laser cutted.

A guy named Bob Pearson in Canada did some beautiful one of RCN corvettes, but I don't know if he is in business anymore? If you find a source for alternate decals please let us know.

So, the Revell 1/144 Snowberry has been out for some time now and I wondered if anyone knows a source for alternative decals for other corvettes? I believe Hawk Graphics does hull number and it seems that canmilair no longer does ship decals.

Thank you JCRAY, I was aware of James research which was why I asked. I have a couple of tins of the old 507B bought for British battleships which is no longer correct, so was hoping as you say the mid grey is the 50/50 mix. Thanks again Al.

There was a lot of confusion about RN colors from various sources. Thanks to the research by James at Sovereign Hobbies 507B is the same color as 507A with the enamel removed. The mid grey could be a 50/50 mix of 507A/B and 507C due to wartime conditions. Only Sovereign sells these paints. Click their link on the front page for a better explanation. Of course it's your model & your paint so (mid gray) is your choice of paint. Good luck
I forgot White Ensign sells these paints in America, they are also located on the front page And they are enamel paints.

Looking for some help please on a colour, Ensign 03 Flower Class Corvettes on page 3 has a picture of HMS Convolvulus mid 1941 that says ‘she is painted in an overall mid grey’ would this be 507B. Any help appreciated Al.

Air Vents on Arctic deployed Flower Class Corvettes |
|
|
A member posted this in a Flower class group,
"Good evening all! I’m after a bit of assistance! I’m building a corvette that was used on the artic convoys and was after any information on how the covers over the air vents were fitted! They look hexagonal on a round cowling? Thanks in advance"
The ship in question is the "Alisma", a photo is in the Flower Class Corvette book by John Lambert The author of the post inaccurately said hexagon instead of octagon shape of grill.

Re: Calling all Flower Class corvette fans |

I do have another request. Does anybody have the booklet Warship Perspectives: Flower Class Corvettes in World War Two? Unfortunately it has been out of print for a while. I do have a photo, please see below and in ShipCraft’s Flower Class is a sketch of it. Therefore I assume that there is more in the Warship booklet. If so, would it be possible to send me some high resolution photos from the pictures / drawings of the Snowflower?
Thanks,
Hermann
Was able to purchase it.

HMS Hyacinth main armament |
|
|
Kia ora Flower Class fans,
a query about HMS Hyacinth. In John Lambert's excellent Warships Perspective, the profile of HMS Hyacinth (page 69) seems to show an unusual turret for the forward gun. Is this the late QF Mk XIX 4" or a 3". I've just about worked out that the stern-most gun is probably a Hotchkiss 6 pounder (?). Any help gratefully received.
Cheers, GrahamB
A 1/350 Captain-class DE as HMS Duckworth being fitted out. Either a 1/700 Flyhawk HMS Invincible 1914 or a beautiful 1/350 Black Cat short-forecastle Flower Class next (as Hyacinth).

Hi all, new member here. Wasn’t sure where to post an introduction, so, since the Revell 1/144 Flower Class with a Pontos set will be my first larger build, here I am. I am in awe of the collective knowledge and talent here and look forward to participating as I move forward on my build. I’d appreciate any tips and/or warnings anyone would like to share. I’m a pretty accomplished modeler, just haven’t done a lot of ships really. Yet.....
I actually have an Orange Hobby Knox-Class Frigate underway (as USS Capodonno for a very good friend who served on her) but am away from my build and subsequent photos. So Snowberry it is, and then a host of 1/200 builds after that.

I have a reference pic of the steam winch powered davits on a Corvette, but the pic is from water level off the ship and impossible to tell where the cable runs. Although some (maybe a lot) of the Corvettes had the hand-powered davits.

I don't know about the Corvettes, but on the US Admirable class minesweepers and the YMS minesweepers, the minesweeping davits were hand powered. The YMS used block and tackle gear on the davits for lifting the kites, otters, and floats. The Admirable class used a hand wheel to rotate the davit (might have also had a clutch type device to extend/retract the boom of the davit-but not sure about that) and a hand cranked winch for raising and lowering anything on the end of the hook.
