Not to change the subject, but I'm curious. What is the other vessel behind the Tarantul, a modified Meko frigate? I don't recognize it really.

It's a scratch-built corvette built on a modified Vosper hull, built to represent an Indonesian corvette the builder photographed several years ago in an appalling state of decay, tied up alongside as it wasn't fit to go to sea.

The situation on board was so bad that the primary colour was rust, not paint. The CO stated that the only reason his crew turned up was to get fed, motivating them was an entirely different matter.

Hopefully things have improved in the years since.

Two shots of Russian Navy Tarantul 978, in 1:72 scale.

She is modelled as she appeared, in a dreadful state of repair, as seen by the modeller in the late 1990s.

Gary,

Very nice model! :thumbs_up_1: I love small craft and this is one of my favorites. Thanks for sharing.

I'm ashamed to say that I don't recognize the markings. Can you tell me what country this represents?

Thanks,
Bob
