He, indeed the model has changed. The dimensions of the rack on X-turret is still not entirely correct, two crosses should fit between the forward and aft rack. Anyway, it's close. (and, this was a find of Frank Allen of the Hood site)

Those grey areas on the aft searchlight platform are the windows covered by canvas covers. So, add some cover to the windows and paint it painted canvas (I think it was near hull-color). Note that the aft pompom platform has a bulkhead at the rear and at the port side.

I see Thomas also has a blue admirals barge. I'm not sure this is correct, but this is how I am going to model it as well. I like the color.

never cease to be amazed how petty people can be, 3 people survived, there is no definitive colour scheme or weapon arrangement apart from the main armament since the crew were at the whim of petty officers to keep them occupied. my uncle died on the repulse. i have letters from him, most of their time was spent polishing and painting, mounting and remounting anti aircraft weapons. but, the ship was a patchwork quilt of colour. there is no definitive. i love experts who were not there.

Hey Luciano,

thank you very much! It was really fun to spill and blur around with all the colors and pigments and stuff.
Its a good contrast between a sharp built ship and the rotten and rusty "Metal"
And it costs almost nothing, compard to a wooden diplay stand.
Recently i payed 60€ for such a wooden thing....
I just could´nt resist.....

What a fantastic job. Can you tell me how you get the weathering so accurate on hull and superstructure screens and also on A turret roundel ? I have signal pennants for turn to 240.

Many thanks

Tim

Unable to find Infos about historic Signaling in the Web, i used the ICS-Code to show the Signal.
I wish i could find out what means "Alter Course to 240°". No Success so far.... :anyone:

Hi eveo6tme

The Ball is from a Needle, like the red one.
This Picture was taken during a Try to use the Needle Heads as a Cone as well.

Image

But it didnt work out well.
The Cone was Wood first, but its now reworked using Styrene/PVC scratched from some of Trumpeters Frames.
I only have a Picture from the wooden ones, but the Way to do was the same.

Image

Maybe a bit overscaled, but ok so far i think.
I research about the Purposes of those Signals. I am almost sure its a Rudder Indicator.
There are some Pictures from Signals (single Cone, black, Top upwards) hoisted at the Foremast Halyard as well. I am not certain about its Purposes.
Anyone has a Idea?

@All Thanks for the Compliments! :big_grin: :big_grin: :wave_1: :wave_1: :wave_1:

when you really like the Backdrop, just get your Copy below. Its from a scottish Paint Artist. Lois McNally
But i cant remember the Link ....
It was the highest Resolution i was able to find....

The rigging and backdrop really bring the ship to life ...

And if you dont mind me asking ? how did you recreate the ball and cone signalls on the main mast rigging ???
