looks great..
was on LPH#2 for three years.. I still have my cruise book from the 85 deployment,, I may be able to scan some photos into if you need something.

Sorry for the Franken-post but I just joined the board.

I did the 85 Iwo deployment as well. I was in AIMD and made Chief on her in 88.

Best skipper I ever had was Tom Hayden who did the 88 deployment.

The real thing. Down in Davey Jones bathtub. My build a heavy wash all over and more crew. Wish I had known about NorthStar crew. Ohh well on the J.F.K it will.

I have the deck crew painted and yellow trucks done. Fix the broken mast and added more decals. Done by Monday. A fellow modeler having a hard time getting this kit in waterline. Wonder why?

I'm waiting for my LPH from iron shipwright. i plan to build as the USS New Orleans LPH-11 as it was in 1991 when i was on board during Desert Storm. What was the biggest problem you had with the kit?

Sorry to get back to you so late. As you see I have the waterline hull. That was my biggest problem it had a almost banana shape to it. I put it in the oven at 400 wrap in aluminum foil and watch it for a 45mins. It was better looking then after that. You order the full hull or waterline?

You have really stuck this out and from where I sit at my computer screen it looks outstanding. I was embarked on the Inchon in '88. Too bad there aren't any 1/350 kits of this capable, ground laying ship class. They served well into the 90's and did well. The photo's you included of the actual ship and airgroup look like out of the late '60's or early '70's. This will make a nice addition to your Gulf of Tonkin theme.

Looking forward to seeing you wrap it up and the embarked air wing.

Inchon in '88, must have played around the Med, if so we did some cross deck activity from an Italian Navy Missile cruiser.

started on the air wing. Place two 53d's near the edge of aft end. No way they look as good as Laci.

I was on board Oki during the Iran hostage takeover. 53 days in the Indian Ocean 3/3 Marines.

I was with 2/3 in Vietnam 1969. Spent some time on the Valley Forge. Looking forward to seeing your next update.
