I had done some work on the main AA observation platform months ago, and have just completed it. I used K&A brass for the wooden overlay and Veterans binoculars:

Thanks Gewoon! I snipped them with a sharp razor on a hard surface. It worked well.

Turrets and secondaries look good mate, and very neat and tidy glueing of the railings, well done. What do you think of that Tamiya 'etch'? I personally found it dreadfull, especially sanding down the attachment points gave me headaches :heh:

Keep up the good work!

The 3 main and two secondary turrets are mostly complete. Just some minor touch-ups and flat coating. The barrels and blast bags are from Pontos, the railings are Lion Roar and Artwox, the insulation plating and maintenance railing on the secondary turrets are Lion Roar, the tripods on the secondary turrets are Pontos, the AA guns and platforms are Pontos, the ammo lockers are Lion Roar, the aft platform and ladders on the secondary turrets are Tamiya, and the aft doors and details on all turret rears are Lion Roar. These took 2 months and about 100 hours to complete.

nice work on the plethora of AA guns. Looking at this really makes my hands itchy to continue mine, but that won't happen any time soon :D

Looking forward to see some more next year, keep it up Joe.

Cheers

Thanks Martin! Yes there is a lot of AA guns. I love the 45 version because to me it looks like they finally finished Yamato and made it look like it should.
