Aye, the "Open in new tab" option is available in both Chrome and the Chrome-based (Chromium) version of Microsoft Edge.

aha! BUT now then ,

--obviously because I appear to be a Luddite-retrogressive-fool I did not use Google chrome as the browser :scratch:

and while I was able to view the image un-blurred..., and save the image un-blurred ...( doh! )

I was unable to copy the image un-blurred off the screen....
Looks like I may have to move on --and use Google chrome as my regular browser...

Thanks Timmy for the enlightenment!!

Any reason not to just right click -> Open image in new tab?

aha!

There is " an end around " to counteract the idiocy of photobucket....

its a wee bit time consuming but does give a result ...

==================================================================================================
basically:

=======================================================

1) open the thread in question

open a second window ( in readiness..)

make a new folder on your PC ( eg 1/200 ghost Arizona )

=========================================================

2) aim you cursor at the blurred image

right-click and select the option ' copy image location '

paste ( ctrl V ) the image location into the address bar at the top of the new window and hit ENTER

when you have the clear image displayed on the screen( only about 800 wide alas )

either:

-- save the image to your new ARIZONA folder and RENAME the image as arizona 1 , 2 etc

==> (the renaming will remove the photobucket " blurring " code ( if you simply press save or copy the image remains blurred...)

the webp file extension is openable via googlechrome ( easy)

or affinity photo system ( harder )

You can then enlarge ( ctrl + ) and view the images at your leisure and plan your build(s) 1/350 or 1/200 or both!

OR

enlarge the image on the screen in the photobucket window to the max using CTRL + ( and F 11 to give maxscreen size)

then make a screen-shot -- and paste this in to an e-mail to yourself
download as normal jpeg from your sent / incoming e-mail

a few of the screen shots below ( note --they have not been cropped)

examples below

It's Photobucket's latest extortion scheme.

GreyGhost has three options: either pay them money, download the images and put them on Imgur or Flickr...or edit them so they can be attached to the post.

Can we get these photos updated, GreyGhost?

I've been using them as reference material and Photobucket has now blurred them out.

Sweet! When was the show, I missed it... Passed through there on the 8th on the way to USS Texas and checked out the Kidd. Fantastic museum there. Well deserved award, wish I could seen her in person!

I saw this in person. The pictures barely do it justice.

Excellent photographs of a well-deserved award-winning model, mate! Someday when I grow up (heh) I hope to get as good with ships...and planes, tanks, etc...

Proud to say this build won Best Ship and also my first Best in Show at the 2013 Baton Rouge, LA Cajun Modelfest. I spent about a year on the build working on it off and on. I did not want to rush it and also put a lot of time into researching it. She is painted in 5-S Sea Blue (not wanting to open a can of worms here ) as described by some as being the most likely scheme during the Pearl Harbor raid. I hope you all enjoy the photos, yes it took me a while to post the photos, the contest was in May. :big_grin:
