Topic review - Dock Flottant ABSD et USS MASSACHUSETTS BB-59 au 1/350

Hello

Thank you for releasing this post that dates from several years.

Nothing comes from KIT. All or almost everything is home-made metal (PE) and some resin items from L'Arsenal. I encourage you to read the post as a whole. Everything is explained in detail.

Sincerely.

Hello,

In these moments so serious, I'm kinda embarrassed to come and introduce the advanced of the Diorama on the floating Dock. But hey life goes on and it is beautiful.

I finished all the barges mounting. I have considered each of them full comp. With interior design, painting and the implementation of the elements of life (boxes, characters and cables and ropes.).

An overview of the barges and cranes

Cranes, the barge energy and a barge that will be next to the large crane

It remains for me to do the painting of aging cabin barge and cranes from the dock and after final Assembly of all. Finally I can see the end.

Best regard

Amazing work, but which kit made from or this is resin

alain your diorama is awesome..I'm building it with the five star 1/700 set. Do you have an e-mail as I have lots of questions the first being do you have a rigging diagram for the cabling of the large cranes mounted to the sides of the dock? my e-mail is brian@grahamlee.com

I will be "stealing" the photos of this model to use as reference in paining all of the hulls of my 1/700 ships, and especially in detailing my 1942 USS South Dakota.

This is positively beautiful brushwork.

I just hope that my left-hand is up to speed, as I can no longer do detailing work with my right (but, fortunately, when I was in art school as a kid, we did practice painting and drawing with both hands).

But this is just so freaking impressive that there are few words to describe it.

Truly, you have keen eyes. Always that i see works like this i ask myself; How does the modeller added too much details? considering piece by piece; boats, ropes, ladders, open doors, hooks, rigging, etc. When i work with my models i try to add the most details that i can, but always there are things that i overlook.

Great work, for dioramas we need people with special talents.

Regards

Victor

Wow, very interesting subject too!

I think the ship covered in scaffolding will look absolutely great. I'm looking forward how you wil tackle the scaffolding, as I always wanted to do Soryu like this:

Enjoy!

Ah, a more relaxed build, I see.

Superb work all around. Astounding, actually.

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback on this diorama. It is really nice to you and especially artist as Marijn.

For the next, this will be the IJN FUSO to 1/350th with a staged close to the next photo:

For the crane, I use the one that must take the Alliance ModelWorks 1/350th. But everything will depend on the deadline for sale of this article. Otherwise, I would do the designs myself to make PE.

Thanks again to you all and I wish you good holidays of end of the year.

Best regard.
Alain.

Simply breathtaking!
Not only the amount of work is enormously impressive but so is the quality of execution.
I like very much how you managed to get an excellent composition with this longitudinal subject. Everything came together beautifully! 'Masterpiece' is often an overused word, but this diorama truly is one!

Can't wait to see the next project… :)

I've said it already but absolutely one of the most incredible dioramas I've ever seen!

Any idea how many hours went into it?

Simply stunning!!

I hate to be "that guy", but my single nit-pick is the flag location. When a commisioned ship is moored or anchored (which I believe would include being dry docked), the flag should be displayed at the flagstaff on the fantail (and the Union Jack at the jackstaff on the bow).

Other than that detail, this is one of the most impressive (and unique) projects yet. Very, very nice.

Cheers,

Keith

I normally don't like super-weathered ships, but wow. This works so well with the ABSD and massive overhaul effort by the assorted vessels and crew. Beautiful work. I absolutely love what is done here.

Hello,

So after 18 months of work, the diorama is completed. Finally almost, it lacks even a few lines to implement, but I would do later.

Sorry, to bags and taken power in the background. But I'm too tired to go back upstairs and redo photos.

Thank you for having followed this post for these 18 months.

Photos place: there are 50. But there are so many items to show.
