This is a plastic kit from S-Models in 1/700. Needless to say it is very tiny - about 2 1/2 inches long, and contains around 20 parts, most of which are PE.
A little history; In the beginning...there were the capitol ships, then the torpedo was invented, along with small torpedo boats to sink the capitol ships. Then Torpedo Boat Destroyers were invented to sink the torpedo boats. Then someone got the idea to put torpedoes on the TBD's so they could perform both functions. The concept (and the boat) grew until it became the Destroyer. This Japanese model Type 67 appears to be based on, or is very similar to, the Thorneycroft A Class boats of the early 1890's, as British naval design influenced Japanese ship building of that period.
The kit(s) come four in a small box and are easy to assemble with no problems encountered, except for some very small parts.
The kit OOB, except for a section of brass wire to replace the lower mast for greater strength
I added some railing and stretched sprue rigging. Enjoy!
