Topic review - Marceau - Heller

Hi!
Thank you for this study of an excellent portrayal of the Heller Marceau. I'm just noticing this at a good time, as I am considering something similar in 1/700, utilizing the bad old "Narvik" kits from Matchbox and Skywave. Also, I have the issue of Navires & Histoire #05, which has a wonderful article on the French ships that originated in foreign navies. This includes Marceau (ex Z31), Leopard (ex Z23) and Hoche (ex Z25), as well as L'Alsacien (ex T23) and Le Lorrain (ex T28). The article provides several photos and profiles of each, with callouts of the different weapons. (Unfortunately the text is in French and I can only pick out a few words here and there.)

Your work is inspiration for me to get one of these started. It may also provide a use for a very basic Japanese resin kit of a German torpedo boat from the dawn of resin kits, in the late 1980s, I think. I was wondering if that one would ever be built.

Thank you again for showing this work!
Rick

I thought it good to finish my Marceau...meaning...put it safe on a stand...
I decided to put it on woodblocks as if in a drydock ready to be relaunched after having been upgraded...
not sure I'm gonna do a golden name shield with black letters....or the inverse

Looks a bit like a German quad 20 with shield... but who knows. The image quality is too poor.

why did you paint the decks brown as they are not wood but steel?

it was an estetic choice I made before I got the crazy illness of doing it as it was up to last detail
lets say its the personal touch of the artist lol

do you like my Marceau?

still a few airlines to do and a few AA guns to place and 2-3 other things
