JollyRoger, what color paints did you use for the MS.21.

I like the tone of the colors where they arent so dark you can still see the fine details.
Your lighting for the pic may help the colors also.

She turned out very nice.

Thank you Paul! I used Model Master enamels, the warship line they did for a very short time.
The deck blue received a wash with darker colors (sort of a sludge of charcoal gray and dark brown) over the wooden decks, followed by a very light drybrushing of a khaki mix.
The Sea Blue camouflage color was similarly given a wash to bring out details, then drybrushed in a shade slightly lighter than the original color.
Still, she is actually a bit darker than the photos turned out.
Thanks again!

I liked the aircraft on the stern with the folded wings. Great build!

Really! I have the Arizona and the deck is in 2 or 3 pieces, with the joints running right across the decking. It's a real chore to fill the joints then re-scribe the planking. I just bought an AM wood deck!

Did you apply an AM deck, or just fight with that terrible multi-piece kit deck?

That's the kit deck; no multi-piece sections, it's the 1/700 one, the decks were already integral with the hull.

I know that kit. Very nice work considering where you started.

Thank you!
Water is window caulk. Not being a ship modeler, I'm less versed on other possibilities and how folks usually do it.

Nice work. What method did you use to make the sea?

Only my second ship build; normally I do aircraft, and the occasional well-worn car.
USS Pennsylvania 1945.  Started this 9 yrs ago but it was so frustrating that I kept putting it off.  Til now.  Finally had the opportunity to just do it.
Tons of work, a lot of the foremast was scratchbuilt or very heavily modified.  Add to that tons of brass bits for railings, ladders, 20mm guns, and the radar bits.  Resin & PE 40mm bofurs.
Completely scratchbuilt SC-1 aircraft on the stern.
