Lovely work. And quite an improvement over the original kit parts.

I have a 1/700 Hiei kit myself and would be interested getting an upgrade pagoda set.

I notice that there is a plan for Hiei's main bridge in the first photo you posted. Would you mind to tell me where I can find that plan?

That foto is from "the Kongo Class Battleship"(金剛型戦艦). You can find more line plans from "Imperial Japanese Navy Battleship Stylebook: Bridge and Superstructures" (日本海軍戦艦スタイルブック by 水谷清高)

Blisters though? I don't think they are comparable, as ship had added blisters and lengthened stern. Or?

:doh_1: You are absolutely correct. I don't know what I was thinking. Reducing the blister on the hull will take some work and scratch-building. I do think it can be done. Reducing the stern is much easier, IMHO.

Here is what I found on the internets on forums where my Google translator is completely failing. :)

Do you have plans for the lower hull? Id like to try the same and build Kongo in original shape.

You could use the lower hull from one of the Fujimi kits and just cut down the very stern.

What the hell, this is amazing.

Are you building the lower hull from scratch? Can you post more information about what we are seeing and what the plan is?

It looks amazing.

It‘s built from Fujimi's new kit. Sorry for letting you misunderstand. I placed it beside KAJIKA‘s 1/700 KONGO(I have to make a scratch for it) for comparison. The Kongo Class battleships have the same characteristic in strakers so they are extreamly alike. (KAJIKA‘s Kongo is highly accurate in strakers)

Are you building a lower hull for the Kajika Kongo ca 1914? I am very interested to know how you did this. Do you have plans for the lower hull? Id like to try the same and build Kongo in original shape.

Thanks Jose!

And, some new progress!

According to the fitting plan of battleship Kongo 1944 and battleship Haruna 1934 there are two pairs of rollers beside the anti-wind anchors. For which I made these rollers on my Hiei considering that all Kongo Class battleships have these settings, no direct evidence though for the lost of Hiei‘s fitting plan and no clear photo.

I heat the frame of the kit making it thin lines to make these eaves above scuttles.
