It would remind you of the true story of the escape of the Dutch Minesweeper Hr. Ms. Abraham Crijnssen from the Japanese in 1942:

She survives to this day and in preserved in the Dutch Naval Museum in Den Helder. Well worth a look. I was fortunate enough to visit the museum last year.

So if you are looking to escape with your ship don't categorically rule out disguising yourself as an island...

Hmmm ... Some of the "flatbottom" models I made as a kid looked a lot like this .... :big_grin:

From the US National Archives, a drawing to make a battleship, in this case USS Delaware, look like an island.
